  • Jake & Kelly | The First Blush of Spring Sunday May 15, 2022

First photo by Anaise Prince Photography On a beautiful spring Sunday in May, Jake, and Kelly exchanged vows inside our warehouse which was transformed into a sunny romantic ceremony space. The sunshine warmed our shoulders and the stunning bride and groom warmed our hearts. It was a beautiful ceremony with our mink curtain wall and draping as an elegant backdrop, backlit by the natural light filling the room. Beautiful, big Boston Ferns sat on pedestals on either side of our couple as they stood, committing their lives to each other. Even their beautiful pup, Lexi was by their side that day! Soon after, the room went from the light-hearted excitement of the ceremony to the jovial cocktail hour energy- something that is always so palpable in the space! Guests were free to meander in our gardens and out front on the stone terrace to catch views of the Connecticut River. Cloud Nine Catering servers passed hors d'oeuvres of apple and Brie tartlet, seared sesame tuna on a crispy wonton with seaweed salad, spinach and Parmesan stuffed mushrooms, Angus beef sliders with Vermont cheddar, blue crab and roasted corn enchilada cups, vegetable risotto balls with truffle aioli. There was something delicious for everyone! The spring grazing table was a beautiful piece of art in itself that sat in our courtyard for guests to nosh on. Guests were then invited to sit down inside the dining room, as part of our dinner reveal. A baby green salad with goat cheese, toasted walnuts, sliced pears, and balsamic dressing. Also, our Fabled foods artisan bread with herb oil and butter was brought to each table, warm out of the oven. Dinner was plated and guests has a choice of grilled Statler chicken breast with maple teriyaki glaze, stuffed sole with crab stuffing, or vegetarian paella. The complimenting sides were broccoli with sherry and mushrooms along with risotto. Before the dancing was underway, Jake and Kelly cut their wedding cake ( with a sword!) The cake was a delectable lemon raspberry with white buttercream frosting along with mini fruit tarts and mini cupcakes! Before the evening ended, guests were invited to satisfy their sweet tooth at the Candy Bar (always a favorite favor). Then as guests left to board the Essex Steam Train, our team served warm pretzels with a mustard dipping sauce! A delicious time was had by all! • Charlie & Maura Romantic Wedding May 14, 2022

On a Saturday in May, Charlie and Maura tied the knot at The Lace Factory followed by a gorgeous cocktail hour and reception. The ceremony was originally scheduled to be hosted in our courtyard garden oasis but there was rain in the forecast for the day. With The Lace Factory having such a beautiful rain plan/ Plan B option, there was nothing to stress about. The venue still boasts glorious natural bright light and ethereal vibes. Maura's mother was their officiant and they said their vows in front of our shabby chic vintage door backdrop. The color palette lent itself to the natural aquatic colors of blues and greens with touches of soft blush pinks and cream colors to really add that soft and feminine touch. Maura's gown even gave a nod to the Lace Factory history with a beautiful lace design overlay- much of the swirls on the lace pattern were reminiscent of the Lace originally made here, softened by the unfinished, "eyelashes" of the gown edges. Cocktail hour was offered on one side of the room, divided by our curtain wall, where guests could sit and people watch in the lounge area or mingle with loved ones at cocktail tables. The gorgeous Spring Harvest Table was the perfect mouth-watering beginning, along with passed appetizers and a John Daley Signature drink our guests were in heaven. As cocktail hour started to wind down, our staff drew the curtains for a gorgeous "dinner reveal" and invited guests to find their seats, offering a glass of bubbly from our champagne wall. The candles were lit and the room became enchanted in the evening light. Traditional announcements were skipped and guests were able to watch our couple float around the dance floor for the first dance. A family-style dinner was brought out by our team to each guest table- offering vessels of stuffed chicken breast, shrimp scampi with bay scallops, and a vegetarian paella to those to had ordered the special dish. Seasonal grilled veggies and risotto made for the perfect sides. The guests really enjoyed getting to try ALL the dinner options and not just one item, as with typically plated dinners. By 7:45 guests were making their way to the dance floor and the ceremonial lemon raspberry cake made for a welcomed sweet treat and a perfectly timed sugar jolt! Each plate of cake also had a cream puff and assorted options of cookies, brownies, and bars for guests to enjoy! Charlie and Maura were able to steal away with their photographer for some sunset photos outside and the shots captured were truly magnificent! There is something so romantic about a couple and steam train! It is like stepping into a movie set. Other photos along the river made for the most exquisite backdrop. The Essex Steam Train whisked the guests off through the woods along the Connecticut River and brought to their cars at the station in Essex. It was a wonderful evening and a beautiful labor of love! • Jarred & Sam Spring Emerald Wedding May 7, 2022

It was wonderful to welcome back Jarred and Sam to The Lace Factory this spring, almost to the year of their intimate wedding that they celebrated with us in my 2021. This time we hosted just over 100 of their closest friends and family for a magnificent celebration. Guests were whisked off to the Lace Factory from their hotel Sheraton in Hartford, Connecticut to arrive for Jarred and Sam's 4:30 ceremony onsite, inside the warehouse. Justice of the Peace and cousin, Rebecca performed the ceremony and it was just a beautiful tribute to their love story! Sam's gown and hairstyle lent itself to 1920's Old Hollywood feel and she was just such a vision! Spring in New England can always be a bit fickle, but we were so happy to have a great day where guests could meander outside in our courtyard, the gardens just beginning to wake from their winter slumber. Ashleigh's Garden brought lusious greenery in- with whimsical touches of drapey vine and big, dramatic Anemone. The forest green napkins were a beautiful pop of color. The bridesmaids gowns were just stunning in a brilliant green! The photos across the street at Deep River Landing is where magic was captured- Jarred and Sam's photos with the flowering tree in all it's glory, just made for the most perfect spring back drop. While our couple was across the street taking photos, our Cloud Nine Catering team was serving some fantastic seasonal passed apps and their abundant Spring harvest table was served outside in the courtyard. The baked Brie topped with fresh strawberry jam and a balsamic drizzle was a favorite. Soon after, guests sat down for salad and dinner which guests were given a plated choice of boneless braised ribs and the scampi with scallops . The vegetarian option was the Ratatouille with gremolata topping over a delicious couscous timbale. Before the dancing began, the gorgeous, red velvet, two-tier ceremonial cutting cake was served along with mini key lime and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes! Assorted cookies and brownies were offered as well. The day was simply delicious in every way! Congratulations, Jarred and Sam! • Sam & Jenna- The first diamond of the season~ April 30, 2022

We hosted the first wedding of the season April 30th and boy was it a magnificent way to hit the ground running! The weather was just perfect as our creatives bustled about The Lace Factory. The eight-foot long tables were first draped with ivory linens and napkins. A pop of gold service plate gave an elegant touch to each place setting and the afternoon sun seamed to set the room ablaze, each charger glowing. Above, the mink colored fabrics billowed from the ceilings, softening the gaze- always a lovely juxtaposition of the industrial space. Festoon lights hung above the dance floor where the band Affiniti would soon light it up! A curtain wall acted as a gorgeous, gauzy dream-like frame. It was the floral and greenery masterpieces done by daughter and mum team; Maple & Mum, that were the crown jewels of this ball! The design ushered in spring in the most brilliant way with roses, stock, ranunculus and cherry blossoms adorning the Chuppah, tucked in bud vases and brilliantly showing off in the bouquets and boutonnieres. They brought a sophisticated yet poetic touch of whimsey. Guests arrived at The Lace Factory in style- in the 1920's Pullman cars of the Essex Steam Train. Check out Emma McDonald Weddings for some sneek peaks of Sam and Jenna riding in the Great Republic car with their wedding party and sipping a little bubbly. Sam MAY have somehow snagged the conductors hat for photos and the shots captured were absolutely epic. A pillar candle lined pathway through the hallway took guests on a journey down memory lane with old black and whites of their loved ones ( always one of my favorite touches). Our couple was so gorgeous as they whirled around the dance floor like a spring breeze for their first dance. B Remembered Wedding captured the entire thing on film! Sam wore a classic tux and Jenna's gown was exquisite-with an illusion top of textured flower buds and a skirt with the most light-hearted movement-her bow at the small of her back was just classic perfection! Together, just pure magic! Her thin delicate headband and drop earrings completed the look and we just couldn't stop talking about it! Bridesmaids wore pale pink florals and it couldn't have been more perfect. Makeup by Wilbert really understood the assignment-WOW! Don't sleep on hiring this MAJOR GLAM TEAM! Guests began cocktail hour with a good old nosh at the spring stationary hors d'oeuvres table - Cloud Nine's laden table is a piece of art in itself! The waitstaff were at the ready with passing trays in hand of fig and chèvre tartlets, crab cakes, seared 5- -spice duck breast on ginger snaps with apple butter to just name a few! As cocktail hour started to wind down, our guests took to the outskirts of the dance floor for front row seats if Sam and Jenna's first dance together as husband and wife. Just after that, the guests were able to enjoy the Hora with friends and family and everyone had a great time getting Sam and Jenna flying high in their chairs, whooping it up in celebration! Soon our guests were invited to sit down for their first course. Guests grabbed a glass of cold champagne as they started to their seats. The sun was falling lower in the sky and that warm light along with the glow of the candles created the most inviting vibes. Dinner was served shortly thereafter. There was a plated dinner choice of Boneless Braised short ribs, Lemon ginger crusted salmon or Vegetarian Paella. My mouth is watering as I write this. I would be remiss if I didn't mention dessert- three tiers of divine lemon raspberry cake! Decadent chocolate truffles ( that conveniently are sized to pop right in your mouth) and cannolis! What a stunning day. Congratulations, Sam and Jenna! We cant wait to see the professional photos!
